Wine Maker – Wolf Blass

I’m a winemaker here at Wolf Blass Winery in the Barossa Valley. I’ve been with the business for about 9 years. Wolf Blass in the Barossa is a unique site in one of the premium and most beautiful wine growing regions of Australia. We have a new and modern winery here which is fantastic to be a part of.

I really like working with the variety of premium wines I get to be involved with from an array of different regions around Australia.

I also really like working with the range of winemakers around me here at Wolf Blass. They have a huge amount of experience around me and it’s great to taste with, share ideas with and learn from them.

My role as a winemaker isn’t just about working with wine makers, it’s about working with the lab, marketing and sales too. I really enjoy being an integral part of the whole of the process and seeing how it all comes together through the work of people in other parts of the business.

I feel really proud to be associated with the brands I have been and to be a part of brands that are recognised around the world. It’s a real buzz for me being able to make wines that people around the world can drink and enjoy. One of the things I really enjoy is being able to share our wines with people at the cellar door. It’s great to interact with them directly and to see their enjoyment of our work.

My own winemaking philosophy is to create wines that have character and reflect the regions that they come from. I think it’s important to make wines that people really enjoy and appreciate. Wine and our brands are, after all, about fun and the good times in people’s lives.
