Frequently asked questions

We understand it can be difficult not knowing the 'protocol' when going through a recruitment process, so hopefully the below will answer some of those tricky questions and help ease your mind if you're waiting for something to happen!

Q. How long can I expect to wait before I know the outcome of my application?

A. As you can imagine we receive hundreds of applications each month and endeavour to get back to you by email as quickly as possible. For most of our open roles you can expect to hear back from us within about one week.

Q. How long is the normal recruitment process?

A. The standard recruitment process can be anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks. If however, you have applied for a temporary role the process can be much quicker - anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks.

Q. Is it appropriate to make a follow up call to the careers representative or should I just wait?

A. Of course you can call us to check on the status of your application or if you have further questions. However, in most cases if we haven’t called you it’s because we’re still waiting on feedback from stakeholders, or the process has been delayed due to internal complications.

Q. What happens if the role is put on hold?

A. If a role goes on hold or we can see a serious delay in the process, we will inform you straight away either by phone or email. No matter what the circumstance we try to keep you up to date with any changes or new information that might arise.

Q. Do you currently take in students for internships?

A. At this stage we do not offer internships for secondary or tertiary students. However, we hope this is something we can run in the future so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Q. If I am looking for temp work should I go through an agency or can I apply directly?

A. We do rely on a selection of agencies to help us recruit temporary candidates but that doesn’t mean you can’t apply directly. You can Register Your Details for Temporary Opportunities on our job search function and a careers team consultant will be in touch if there is a contract role that matches your skills and experience.

Just bear in mind that most of our temporary resource requirements are in IT, Finance and Administration across job families.

We're always here if you need to ask us a question directly throughout the recruitment process!
